CORPUS CHRISTI – Beginning Tuesday, January 12, the direct connector from northbound SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway) to northbound IH 37 will be closed from 9 pm until 6 am on Wednesday, January 13.
The closure is necessary for construction of the new interchange bridges at this location as part of the Harbor Bridge Replacement Project. Motorists heading northbound on SH 286 will take the IH 37 southbound exit and make a U-turn at Chaparral Street to continue northbound on IH 37.
Electronic message boards will be in place to alert motorists to the closure and detour route.
Motorists are urged to be aware of the closure, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones. All work is weather permitting.
