On Tuesday, August 24, from 9 pm until 6 am Wednesday, August 25, direct connector closures to affect traffic heading northbound and southbound on IH 37 to southbound SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway)

CORPUS CHRISTI – On Tuesday, August 24, from 9 pm until 6 am Wednesday, August 25, the direct connector from northbound IH 37 to southbound SH 286 will be closed.  Motorists heading northbound on IH 37  to southbound SH 286 will be detoured to the Up River Road exit, make a U-turn, continue southbound on IH 37 to the Port Avenue exit, and follow the signs to Leopard Street to merge onto the southbound SH 286 frontage road.

In addition, at the same time, the direct connector from southbound IH 37 to southbound SH 286 will be closed. Motorists heading southbound on IH 37 towards southbound SH 286  will be detoured onto Port Avenue and follow the signs to Leopard Street to merge onto the southbound SH 286 frontage road.

Portable message signs will be in place to assist motorists with navigating the alternate routes.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the connector closures, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones.  All work is weather permitting.
