Upcoming Harbor Bridge Project freeway closure to affect all northbound IH 37 mainlanes near the IH 37 and SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway) Interchange One-night closure to be in effect October 26, 2021

CORPUS CHRISTI – On Tuesday, October 26, from 9 pm until 6 am Wednesday, October 27, all northbound IH 37 mainlanes will be closed near the IH 37 and SH 286 Interchange.   This closure is necessary for construction related to the Harbor Bridge Project.

Motorists heading northbound from US 181 to northbound IH 37 will take the Port Avenue/Nueces Bay Blvd exit to the Martin Luther King Drive frontage road and merge onto northbound IH 37 at the new Stillman Avenue on-ramp.

Motorists traveling from the Bayfront area will follow the detour signs to N Chaparral Street, Belden Street, N Tancahua, to the Martin Luther King Drive frontage road and merge onto IH 37 at the new Stillman Avenue on-ramp.

Portable message signs will be in place to assist motorists with navigating the alternate routes.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the mainlane closure, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones.  All work is weather permitting.
