Upcoming Harbor Bridge Project closure to affect northbound IH 37 exiting the Harbor Bridge from southbound US 181. A detour to the frontage road will be in place. Temporary closure to be in effect September 29, 2022.

CORPUS CHRISTI – On Thursday, September 29,  from 9 pm until 6 am, the northbound IH 37 mainlane exiting the Harbor Bridge from southbound US 181 will be closed. The temporary mainlane closure is necessary to install route shield pavement markings.

Motorists heading towards southbound SH 286 will be detoured at the Tancahua Street / Staples Street exit to continue on Martin Luther King Drive to the Northwest Loop Ramp.

Motorists continuing northbound on IH 37 will be detoured at the Tancahua Street / Staples Street exit to continue on the Martin Luther King Drive frontage road to the entrance ramp for northbound IH 37 after the Port Avenue intersection.

Traffic control devices will be in place to assist motorists with navigating the alternate routes.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the temporary mainlane closure, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones. All work is weather permitting.
