Upcoming Harbor Bridge Project freeway closure to affect all northbound IH 37 mainlanes near the IH 37 and SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway) Interchange. Detour to the frontage road will be in place. Weekend closure to be in effect November 11 – 14.

CORPUS CHRISTI – Beginning Friday, November 11, from 9 pm until 6 am, Monday, November 14, all northbound IH 37 mainlanes will be closed near the IH 37 and SH 286 Interchange.   This closure is necessary for utility work related to the Harbor Bridge Project.

Motorists traveling from the Bayfront area will follow the detour signs to Chaparral Street, Belden Street, Tancahua, to the Martin Luther King Drive frontage road and merge onto IH 37 at the Stillman Avenue on-ramp.

Motorists traveling northbound from US 181 to northbound IH 37 will take the Port Avenue/Nueces Bay Blvd exit to the Martin Luther King Drive frontage road and merge onto northbound IH 37 at the Stillman Avenue on-ramp.

The closure will not affect motorists traveling northbound from US 181 to southbound SH 286.

Portable message signs will be in place to assist motorists with navigating the alternate routes.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the mainlane closure, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones.  All work is weather permitting.
