CORPUS CHRISTI – Beginning Tuesday, January 3 at 9 am until Tuesday, January 10 at 9 pm, E Port Avenue from Broadway Street to Sam Rankin Street will be completely closed. The closure is necessary for the Gantry Crane to progress in placing overhead spans on the south approach bridge.
Motorists traveling Port Avenue from IH 37 towards Whataburger Field will be detoured to turn right on Broadway Avenue and continue to turn left on San Rankin Street to reconnect on Port Avenue.
Motorists traveling from the Whataburger Field area towards IH 37 will be detoured to turn left on Sam Rankin Street, turn right on Broadway Street and continue to reconnect on Port Avenue.
Portable message signs will be in place to assist motorists with navigating the alternate route.
Motorists are urged to be aware of the closure, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones. All work is weather permitting.
