Upcoming Harbor Bridge Project temporary ramp closure to affect northbound SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway) to eastbound I-37 and northbound US 181. A detour will be in place. (Temporary nighttime closure to be in effect July 23 – 24, 2024)

CORPUS CHRISTI – On Tuesday, July 23, from 11 pm until 5 am, Wednesday July 24, the northbound SH 286 ramp to eastbound I-37 towards the bayfront area, and to northbound US 181 towards North Beach will be temporarily closed at night only. The short-term closure is necessary to continue the construction of a new bridge at the South Interchange.

Motorists traveling towards the bayfront area and US 181 will follow the detour to take the connector ramp from northbound SH 286 to westbound I-37, immediately exit to Nueces Bay Blvd, make a U-turn, and reenter I-37 to continue straight or to access northbound US 181.

Message boards will be in place along SH 286 and I-37 to assist motorists with the alternate route.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the ramp closure and detour, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones.  All work is weather permitting.
