The Harbor Bridge Project announces new traffic signal cycle at Nueces Bay Blvd and I-37 frontage roads. Traffic signal to begin permanent rotation today, October 7, 2024.

CORPUS CHRISTI – Beginning today, Monday October 7, a new permanent traffic signal will be activated at Nueces Bay Blvd and I-37. The signal activation will replace the all-way stop condition currently in place.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the new traffic signal transition and to slow down in the work zones. All work is weather permitting.

JOIN THE BRIDGE TEAM

1. The new bridge is expected to last 170 years.

2. Includes LED lighting feature, belvedere and shared-use path.

3. Main Tower Height = 538 ft

4. The base of each bridge tower is roughly the size of two basketball courts.

5. Once complete, will be the longest cable stay bridge in the United States.

6. Main Span Length = 1661 ft

7. Clearance = 205 ft above water

8. The length of the main span of the bridge is equivalent to the length of 5 ½ football fields.

9. Once complete, will be the tallest structure in South Texas.
