Upcoming Harbor Bridge Project temporary detours and alternating ramp closures to affect commuters heading southbound on SH 286 from US 181 and IH 37. The intermittent closures are necessary to continue final mainlane surface paving around the new South Interchange. Short-term detour and ramp closures to be in effect March 21 – 22.

CORPUS CHRISTI – Beginning Friday, March 21, from 9 am until 5 pm, Saturday, March 22, motorists heading southbound on SH 286 from US 181 and IH 37 connections are encouraged to slow down, anticipate delays, and seek alternate routes. The short-term detours and closures are essential to commuter safety as we advance toward final traffic configurations ahead of opening the new bridge to traffic later this spring.

Flaggers and message boards will be in place to assist motorists with detours.

Motorists are urged to consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, slow down in the work zones, and expect delays. All work is weather permitting.
