Flatiron/Dragados, LLC. to partner with the Corpus Christi Fire Department and Port of Corpus Christi in rescue training drills around Harbor Bridge Project structures.
Related activities to be in effect June 10 – 12
CORPUS CHRISTI – The Harbor Bridge Replacement Project developer, Flatiron/Dragados, LLC. (FDLLC), is pleased to collaborate with the Corpus Christi Fire Department (CCFD) and the Port of Corpus Christi (PCC) in a unified effort to perform rescue drills on various structures within the project limits from Monday, June 10, through Wednesday, June 12.
The coordinated effort will focus on rescue drill scenarios in the following locations: Corpus Christi Ship Channel beneath the South Pylon, high elevation on the North Pylon, and within a confined space on the South Approach.
Monday, June 10, 8:30-10 am (PCC/CCFD/FDLLC): Water rescue drill to recover person(s) fallen from the bridge deck into the ship channel.
Tuesday, June 11, 9-11 am (CCFD/FDLLC): Elevator rescue drill from the North Pylon.
Wednesday, June 12, 9-11 am (CCFD/FDLLC): Confined space rescue drill from within South Approach spans.
Simulated rescues will be challenging and technical in nature, with an emphasis on safety and rescuer competency. Emergency response vehicles will be prevalent around the Port of Corpus Christi South Barge Dock and Harbor Bridge Project structures during the three-day event.
