US 181 Harbor Bridge Project developer hosts upcoming Design Charette
Special photo opportunity will take place at 11:30 a.m.
Representatives with the Harbor Bridge Project will be hosting an upcoming design charette that will serve as a specialized workshop that will enable community representatives to review and provide feedback on bridge design elements. Flatiron/Dragados, LLC (Project Developer) and FIGG Aesthetics Design Team (Project Designer) will present and discuss design elements with attendees.
More than 250 invites were sent to a cross-section of the community, which included elected officials, area city and county leaders, business groups and neighborhood representatives. The interactive workshop will include open discussions on a variety of project design elements, in which participants will have the opportunity to share ideas and provide preferences for the aesthetic features of the new signature bridge.

About the Harbor Bridge Project: The nearly $900 million project will include the development, design and construction of just over six miles of combined bridge and roadway. It will include the new six-lane Harbor Bridge, as well as, the reconstruction of approximately 1.6 miles of IH-37 and approximately one mile of the Crosstown Expressway. Once the new bridge is open to the traveling public, the project will conclude with the demolition of the existing Harbor Bridge. It is anticipated that the project will take five years to complete.
