Beginning Friday, January 29, the direct connector from northbound SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway) to northbound IH 37 will be temporarily closed for one night

CORPUS CHRISTI – Beginning Friday, January 29, the direct connector from northbound SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway) to northbound IH 37 will be closed from 9 pm until 6 am on Saturday, January 30.

Motorists heading northbound on SH 286 will take the IH 37 southbound exit and make a U-turn at Chaparral Street to continue northbound on IH 37. The closure is necessary for the northbound IH 37 long-term traffic shift onto newly constructed freeway lanes related to the Harbor Bridge Replacement Project.

Portable message signs will be in place to alert motorists of the closure and detour route.

AS A REMINDER: Beginning Friday, January 29, from 9 pm until 6 am, Saturday, January 30, motorists heading northbound on IH 37 at the SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway) interchange will be reduced to one mainlane of traffic.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the closure, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones.  All work is weather permitting.
