CORPUS CHRISTI – On Monday, March 22, and Tuesday, March 23, the direct connector from northbound SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway) to southbound IH 37 will be closed for overhead construction both nights from 9 pm until 6 am.

On Tuesday night, March 23, the direct connector closure will continue to include the closed right mainlane of southbound IH 37 to Carancahua Street. This closure is necessary for construction related to the Harbor Bridge Project.

Detours will be in place to take the IH 37 northbound exit from SH 286 and make a U-turn at Up River Road to IH 37 southbound. Portable message signs will assist motorists with navigating through the alternate route.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the closure, to consider using alternate routes, to follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones.  All work is weather permitting.
