On November 20, temporary closure to affect all IH 37 southbound mainlanes at the SH 286 interchange, and direct connector closure from northbound SH 286 to northbound IH 37

CORPUS CHRISTI –All IH 37 southbound main lanes at the SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway) interchange, in addition to the direct connector from northbound SH 286 to northbound IH 37, will be closed beginning 9 pm Friday, November 20, through 6 am Monday, November 23. The closures are necessary for constructing new interchange bridges as part of the Harbor Bridge Replacement Project.

Motorists heading southbound on IH 37 towards downtown and North Beach will be detoured onto southbound SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway), make a U-turn at Tarlton Avenue, and back to southbound IH 37.

Motorists heading northbound on SH 286 will take the IH 37 southbound exit and make a U-turn at Chaparral Street to continue northbound on IH 37.

Electronic message boards will be in place to alert motorists of the closures and detour routes.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes, to be aware of the mainlane closures, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones.  All work is weather permitting.
