Beginning Monday, July 26, Martin Luther King Drive (also known as the IH 37 westbound frontage road) will be closed from Staples Street to Port Avenue, including the Port/Nueces Bay exit from northbound IH 37, from 9 pm until 6 am Saturday, July 31 .

On Wednesday, July 21, Martin Luther King Drive (also known as the IH 37 westbound frontage road) will be closed between Coke Street and Port Avenue from 2 am until 8 am.

On Wednesday, June 30, Martin Luther King Drive (also known as the IH 37 westbound frontage road) will be closed between Coke Street and Port Avenue from 2 am until 5 am.

Beginning tonight, June 22, all northbound IH 37 mainlanes will be closed near the IH 37 and SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway) interchange from 9 pm until 6 am tomorrow, June 23.

1. The new bridge is expected to last 170 years.

2. Includes LED lighting feature, belvedere and shared-use path.

3. Main Tower Height = 538 ft

4. The base of each bridge tower is roughly the size of two basketball courts.

5. Once complete, will be the longest cable stay bridge in the United States.

6. Main Span Length = 1661 ft

7. Clearance = 205 ft above water

8. The length of the main span of the bridge is equivalent to the length of 5 ½ football fields.

9. Once complete, will be the tallest structure in South Texas.
