CORPUS CHRISTI – On Monday, October 25, from 9 pm until 6 am Tuesday, October 26, the Detour from northbound SH 286 to Staples Street and northbound US 181 will be temporarily closed. This closure is necessary for construction related to the Harbor Bridge Project.
Detours will be in place to take the new direct connector from northbound SH 286 to northbound IH 37 and make a U-turn at Up River Road to southbound.
Motorists trying to access the uptown area will take the Comanche Street exit from northbound SH 286.
Portable message signs will be in place to assist motorists with navigating the alternate routes.
Motorists are urged to be aware of the closure, to consider using alternate routes, to follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones. All work is weather permitting.
