CORPUS CHRISTI – Beginning Monday, April 7, from 4 am until 4 pm daily, through Friday, April 11, northbound I-37 will undergo intermittent mainlane reductions from the South Interchange to Nueces Bay Boulevard.
Beginning Wednesday, April 9, from 4 am until 4 pm daily, through Friday, April 11, ramps from northbound SH 286 to northbound I-37, northbound I-37 to Port/Nueces Bay Blvd, and the entrance ramp at Stillman Avenue will be closed.
Motorists utilizing connecting ramps in the area will be detoured to the frontage roads. Police officers and flaggers will be in place to assist with traffic flow during the closures.
Portable message signs will be positioned along I-37, SH 286, and US 181 to alert motorists of the mainlane reductions and ramp closures.
The alternating mainlane and ramp closures are essential to commuter safety as we advance toward final traffic configurations ahead of opening the new bridge to traffic later this spring.
Motorists are urged to be aware of slow-rolling traffic, plan for an alternate route, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones. All work is weather permitting.
