CORPUS CHRISTI – Beginning Monday, March 31, from 4 am until 4 pm daily, through Friday, April 4, southbound I-37 will undergo intermittent mainlane reductions from Nueces Bay Boulevard to the South Interchange.
Beginning Wednesday, April 2, from 4 am until 4 pm daily, through Friday, April 4, all entrance and exit ramps along southbound I-37 will be closed from Nueces Bay Blvd to the South Interchange. Commuters should anticipate delays as they are detoured to the frontage roads during the ramp closures. Police officers and flaggers will be in place along the frontage roads to assist with traffic flow during the closures.
Motorists are highly encouraged to plan accordingly and seek alternate routes. Portable message signs will be in place along I-37 to alert motorists of the mainlane reductions and ramp closures.
The alternating mainlane closures are essential to commuter safety as we advance toward final traffic configurations ahead of opening the new bridge to commuters later this spring.
Motorists are urged to be aware of slow-rolling traffic, plan for an alternate route, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones. All work is weather permitting.
