Upcoming Harbor Bridge Project freeway closure to affect all southbound IH 37 mainlanes from Up River Road to Nueces Bay Boulevard. A detour to the frontage road will be in place. Full weekend closure to be in effect January 20 – 22.

CORPUS CHRISTI – Beginning Friday, January 20, at 9 pm until 9 pm, Sunday, January 22, all southbound IH 37 mainlanes will be closed from Up River Road to Nueces Bay Boulevard.  The closure is necessary to construct a new sign column on IH 37 for the Harbor Bridge Project.

Motorists traveling southbound on IH 37 will be detoured to the Up River Road exit, continue on the frontage road, and reenter IH 37 using a temporary on-ramp south of Nueces Bay Boulevard.

Portable message signs will be in place to assist motorists with navigating the alternate route.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the mainlane closure, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones.  All work is weather permitting.
