Upcoming Harbor Bridge Project freeway mainlane reduction to affect southbound US 181 from Beach Avenue to Burleson Street. Long-term nightly lane reduction to be in effect May 15, 2023.

CORPUS CHRISTI – Beginning Monday, May 15, through Friday, June 16, a nightly right lane reduction will occur from 9 pm until 5 am for southbound US 181 from Beach Avenue to Burleson Street. The overnight mainlane reduction is necessary to complete retaining wall construction related to the Harbor Bridge Project.

Portable message signs will be in place to alert motorists of the mainlane reduction.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the mainlane closure, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones. All work is weather permitting.
