Upcoming Harbor Bridge Project nightly closures to affect all westbound I-37 mainlanes near the South Interchange at I-37 and SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway). Detours to the frontage road will be in place. Short-term nightly closures to be in effect October 15 – 17.

CORPUS CHRISTI – Beginning Tuesday, October 15, from 9 pm until 6 am, nightly through Thursday, October 17, all westbound I-37 mainlanes heading towards Calallen will be closed at the SH 286 Interchange. The temporary closures are necessary to remove equipment from the overhead connector ramp.

Motorists traveling from the Bayfront and Downtown areas to westbound I-37 will follow the detour signs to Chaparral Street, Belden Street, Tancahua, to the Martin Luther King Drive frontage road and merge onto I-37 at the Stillman Avenue on-ramp.

Motorists traveling southbound on US 181 to westbound I-37 will take the SH 286 exit ramp to Martin Luther King Drive and continue on the frontage road to merge onto I-37 at the Stillman Avenue on-ramp.

The closure will not affect motorists traveling southbound on US 181 to southbound SH 286.

Portable message signs will be in place to assist motorists in navigating the alternate routes.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the mainlane closures, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones.  All work is weather permitting.
