Upcoming Harbor Bridge Project temporary closures to affect all eastbound I-37 mainlanes and the connector ramp from northbound SH 286 to westbound I-37. Detours will be in place. Temporary one-night closures to be in effect August 6, 2024.

CORPUS CHRISTI – On Tuesday, August 6, from 9 pm until 6 am, Wednesday, August 7, all eastbound I-37 mainlanes will be closed at the SH 286 interchange. An additional closure of the connector ramp from northbound SH to westbound I-37 will occur intermittently. The temporary closures are necessary for overhead construction of a new connector ramp.

Motorists traveling eastbound on I-37 towards the Bayfront or northbound on US 181 towards the North Beach will be detoured to take the connector ramp to southbound SH 286, make a U-turn at Tarlton Avenue, and head northbound on SH 286 to the northbound US 181 and eastbound I-37 ramps.

Motorists heading northbound on SH 286 to westbound I-37 towards Annaville will be detoured to take the Comanche Street exit and follow the frontage road to Staples Street, turn left on Staples Street, and turn left on the Martin Luther King Drive frontage road to enter I-37 at the Stillman Avenue on-ramp.

Portable message signs will be in place to assist motorists with navigating the alternate route.

Motorists are urged to be aware of the mainlane closure and ramp closures, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones. All work is weather permitting.
